Matt Owens is a nationally-touring stand-up comedian based in New Orleans. In 2014, he was personally selected to feature for Louis CK for two sold-out shows at New Orleans’ historic Joy Theater. He was featured at Hell Yes Fest comedy festival from 2014 to 2017. Matt has featured for Dom Irrera, Rich Vos, Hannibal Buress, Theo Von, Brian Posehn, Kyle Kinane, Mark Normand, and has shared the stage with Bill Burr and Darrell Hammond at the House of Blues. Matt was the headliner and co-producer for The Jay Thomas Show on Sirius XM radio. In July 2018, he co-produced the filming of New Orleans-based Season 3 of Kevin Hart’s Hart of the City.Matt performs stand-up regularly in New Orleans (House of Blues, Howlin’ Wolf) and is currently headlining for The Comedy Zone comedy clubs throughout the Southeast and many other clubs throughout the country. He has his own show at The Joy Theater and is the producer of Stand-Up Nola. For the last five years, he has organized and headlined a New Orleans Comedy Road Tour boasting sold out shows throughout the Southeast. Matt has starred in the films Pensacola Prophet (2017), and Wendy, released by Fox Searchlight in 2020.
